Timo Keersmaekers -trained Purebred Arabian superstar Messi clinched the Dutch leg of the His Highness President’s Cup at Duindigt in The Hague, Netherlands, on Sunday.
Racing 2150m, Messi, winner of the 2020 running of the highly-coveted Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan Jewel Crown, turned up victorious ahead of a group of top European Purebred Arabian performers with a breezy dash to the finish under William Mongil, winning with a time of 2:30:00.
The President’s Cup Series is held according to the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice-President and Deputy Prime Minister of the UAE and Minister of the Presidential Office, with an aim of raising the profile of Purebred Arabian racing around the world.
Faisal Al Rahmani, General Supervisor of the President's Cup, Ali Al Shehhi, Charge d'Affaires of the UAE Embassy in the Kingdom of the Netherlands, and Saeed Al Muhairi, Representative of the Abu Dhabi Sports Council, were present during the prize giving ceremony.
