Owners of 2yos purchased at the 2023 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale will once again be rewarded with multiple bonuses as Tattersalls offer the £250,000 Tattersalls Craven Royal Ascot/Group One Bonus for the third year running in addition to the lucrative and widely acclaimed £15,000 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Bonus scheme which has already paid out £555,000 in bonuses.
The £250,000 Tattersalls Craven Royal Ascot/Group One Bonus will offer a £125,000 bonus for the first Craven Breeze-Up winner of any of the six 2yo races at this year’s Royal Meeting, with £100,000 being paid to the owner and £25,000 to the vendor of the horse. An additional £125,000 bonus, with the same £100,000/£25,000 split, will also be paid to the first Craven Breeze-Up winner of any of the 15 European Group One races open to 2yos, including the ‘all age’ Nunthorpe Stakes at York and the Prix de l’Abbaye de Longchamp.
NATIVE CHARTED A TRAIL
Subsequent Tattersalls Irish 2000 Guineas winner and European Champion 2yo Native Trail won the inaugural £125,000 bonus in 2021 when producing a dominant performance in the Group 1 National Stakes on The Curragh. The Charlie Applebytrained colt was a 210,000gns purchase by Godolphin at the 2021 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale and added the £125,000 Tattersalls Craven Group One Bonus to a £15,000 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Bonus won on his debut.
Consignor Oak Tree Farm collected a £25,000 share of the £125,000 prize for Native Trail’s victory and had previously purchased him with Margaret O’Toole for 67,000gns from Kildaragh Stud at Book 1 of the Tattersalls October Yearling Sale.
The 2023 Tattersalls Craven Breeze-Up Sale will take place on 17-19 April, with all 2yos breezing on the morning of Monday 17 April on the Jockey Club Estates’ watered gallop at Newmarket’s Rowley Mile Racecourse.
