The National Thoroughbred Racing Association, National Turf Writers and Broadcasters (NTWAB), and Daily Racing Form have announced that the story of Cody's Wish has been voted the 2022 FanDuel Racing NTRA Moment of the Year based on the results of more than 1,000 votes cast via Twitter and an online poll.

The uplifting story that swept across America had the ultimate ending when the equine Cody's Wish won the Grade 1 Breeders' Cup Dirt Mile at Keeneland in early November.

WONDERFUL STORY

After his Breeders’ Cup success, Michael Banahan, director of bloodstock, Godolphin USA, said: “It’s the most wonderful story in the world. Cody Dorman has been a part of this horse’s life all the way through and for Cody’s Wish to win a Grade One race is absolutely fantastic.”

In a wheelchair, Cody Dorman, who was born with Wolf Hirsccorn Syndrome, and the horse bonded when the latter was a foal, with the former visiting Godolphin’s Gainsborough Farm in a visit sponsored by the Make A Wish Foundation and Keeneland.

The FanDuel Racing NTRA Moment of the Year was recognised during the 52nd Annual Eclipse Awards at The Breakers Palm Beach in Florida. The ceremony was broadcast live on FanDuel TV and Racetrack Television Network (RTN), as well as streamed live on multiple outlets including: NTRA.com, americasbestracing. net, bloodhorse.com, equibase.com and NTRA's YouTube channel.
