For horses in private ownership, the opening 1200m maiden was won comfortably by Beau Do Soleil, never going to be denied once sent for home by Oscar Chavez in the colours of Byerley Racing for Abubakar Daud. Runner-up on debut, the 4yo colt’s sole start in his native France, he was making it third time lucky since transferring to the UAE.
